Abundance London Proposal

Abundance London approaches Transport for London with a proposal to improve the dingy area under the railway bridges outside Turnham Green tube station. It takes us many months to find out to whom we should talk at Transport for London.

Rob Adams and Anna Urbanska of Adams + Collingwood architects help us to draw up professional – looking images of the area:

We begin to draw up our proposals. Abundance London generally does environmental, horticultural stuff, so we start with a green wall:

From the beginning the River Thames is central to our view of Chiswick. However, we soon realise that the plants will be seriously stressed if they have to grow entirely in the shade. So we concentrate on the light wells, and fill the intermediate space with a mural:

Abundance London has created a huge artwork under the railway arches at Turnham Green tube. There is a timeline of historic maps showing the development of Chiswick through the centuries, with works of art depicting local landmarks by some of the amazing artists who live and work in our area.
