We spent the day going through the extensive resources of Chiswick Library’s Local Studies archive. This is situated behind the mysterious door on the right at the top of the staircase in Chiswick Library. Guided by local historian Carolyn Hammond, with useful interjections from archivist James Marshall, we inspected maps and engravings.
